challenge
At the beginning of 2010, we had the pleasure to take part in the tender organised by The Department of Interregional Programmes in the Ministry of Regional Development.
The aim was to create visual identification for the programme The strategy of social and eceonomic development of Eastern Poland by 2020.
The programme, co-finanaced by the European funds, was aimed at increasing the economic, social, and territorial cohesion of five Polish provinces: Lubelskie, Podkarpackie, Podlaskie, Swietokrzyskie, and Warmińsko-Mazurskie Provinces. Those regions are considered to be one of the poorest regions in the European Union. Tough as the competition had been (25 competitors), we managed to win the tender and hurried to work on the project. We decided to build the graphic concept that would subtly reflect the importance of revitalisatio of the eastern provinces of Poland and its positive influence on the rest of the country.
methods
Our proposal presented the outline of Poland with the five eastern provinces clearly marked. Simplicity of expression was additionally strenghtened by the eye-catching coulours- one for every region to emphasise its autonomous identity. All in all, the image embodied the idea of sustainable dynamic developent of those regions functioning as a part of the whole country.
The sign presents the new image of eastern Poland - an integral developing part of the EuropeanUnion.
results
Exceptional graphic concept of the project is our input into this strategy. It involved the design of logotype, visual identity of the programme documents and promotional materials, such as CDs, paper files, notepads, bags, mugs, pens, stickers, or pendrives. Together, they became a colourful element of the campaign that attracts attention and emphasises its most important gists. The project was enthousiastically accepted by the Ministry of Regional Development, becoming a symbol of cooperation for the development of the region.
